Octagon Club at Monta Vista High School
Octagon is an active volunteer organization that is sponsored by the Optimist International group. It retains similar core values as the Optimist International group and participates in both similar and unique events. Monta Vista Octagon has been contributing exceptional service and dedication to the local community since 2013. Our goal is to help the community through your participation while helping our members receive opportunity for both activities and friendships. We offer a variety of activities annually including, but not limited to, Breakfast with Friends, JDRF, and Stanford Concessions. Octagon also hosts unique events during the year such as the Pie Toss and the Cure Cancer Café which fundraise respectively for the Make a Wish Foundation and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We encourage interaction between our members through various member bonding activities scattered throughout the year. Optimist International
The Optimist International Organization is a collective group of autonomous sectors that incorporate various unique activities in order to move towards a common goal - the encouragement of improvement and success among local communities. With over 100,000 members and 2,900 clubs in 35 nations, Optimist International is one of the leading service clubs in the world. Their most important philosophy is an optimistic approach with the creed based on "promoting an active interest in good government and civic affairs; inspiring respect for the law; promoting patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; aiding and encouraging the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, community life, and the world."

We are students at Monta Vista High School, one of the top high schools in Cupertino, Silicon Valley, entire California and throughout the nation. Our school has a reputation for rigorous academics, comprehensive electives and student clubs. We are proud to add value to our school through service at MV Octagon.
